Elkridge

Elkridge is a large city in eastern central Maryland that is surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay. It is about 40 miles northeast of Washington, D.C., and the weather in Elkridge is generally pleasant. The city’s population is approximately 20,411 people. Its average family size is 3.27.

The city’s population is growing at a rapid rate. The city’s 2020 population is projected to be 27,087, making it the 51st largest in Maryland and the 1697th largest in the United States. Elkridge is growing at a rate of 3.67% per year, and the city’s population has risen by 7.61% since the last census. The city has a total area of 8.4 square miles, and its population density is about 3,229 per square mile.

Elkridge has a long history in the industry. The town was founded in the early 18th century on the banks of the Patapsco River. It was originally called Elk Ridge Landing, and residents began developing small plots of land for tobacco growing. The area also had a deep-water port, which was useful for loading tobacco. Until deforestation, the river was navigable, but today it’s only three to four feet deep.

Elkridge has many public transportation options. Commuter bus service from the Regional Transportation Authority of Central Maryland runs along Washington Boulevard and connects the city to the Camden Line of the MARC commuter rail. Additionally, residents can access the Baltimore Light Rail at the BWI Business District Station, about 6 miles (10 km) away.

Elkridge’s poverty rate is lower than the national average. However, it’s still important to note that Elkridge is a small city, and the economic situation is generally worse in a small town. For this reason, the government is looking for ways to keep Elkridge’s poverty rate as low as possible.

Elkridge is home to several historic buildings that date back to the Colonial era. One of them is Belmont Manor and Historic Park. This is a popular meeting spot for local residents during the weekends. It is also home to one of the oldest Colonial-era structures in Maryland. One of the most popular destinations in Elkridge is Kupcakes & Co., which has been recognized as a “Cake Hunters” winner.

One of Elkridge’s most notable historical landmarks is its Thomas Viaduct, which spans the Patapsco River. This historic bridge is the oldest multi-span masonry curved bridge in the world. Built in 1833, it was used to transport the first telegraph message from Washington, D.C.

Most residents drive their private automobiles to work. Some carpool with coworkers and neighbors. Other people use public transportation, but owning a car is useful for many residents. Next post.

What Our Clients Say

Once again you have exceeded our expectations. The price was very reasonable (we did shop around) and professionalism was outstanding. Thanks for not trying to include add-on fees to make a higher profit and we are looking forward to working with you for many more years to come.

-M. Leo Storch Management

Mr Joseph was by far the most responsive of the three companies we contacted. He came to inspect or driveway on the date and time he promised, gave us a firm quote, and he and his crew arrived on the appointed day at the scheduled time. They edged and cleared the old surface, then laid the new asphalt with the edges tapered to align with our patio and sidewalk. When they were finished the new surface was truly beautiful (and functional).
